As a company who are continually in the lab exploring and creating new works, The Mavericks are honing in on one particular process to develop a new evening length work entitled
Reference Point.
Reference Point not only explores the physicality of the human body, but also challenges the dancers to dig deeper within their real emotions and life circumstances in order to portray the honest, and rawness of the movement.
 Maverick is exploring the dance theater vernacular and the piece is an eye opener. It deals with how one copes through life and regaining control when things fall apart. In a visceral form, Maverick Dance Experience takes you through a journey showing challenges within circumstances of love, loss, and living. 

Reference Point is the familiar place we always come back to, our basic survival instincts that trigger when resolving conflicts within ourselves and in our surrounding environments. In the process of work shopping, deep personal discussions, and great emotional dancing, you will experience a full-length 40-minute dance theater piece in which Mavericks share their inner souls.

Reference Point will be performed April 12-14th at Newsteps, at the semi-annual dance series, produced by Chen Dance Center.
